Verify if your documents have been backed up

Ensuring your documents are safely backed up is essential. That’s why Genius Scan lets you check the overall sync status at the top of the app and view the status of each document individually right next to it.

Overall sync status

This section covers syncing with Genius Cloud.

If you are logged into a Genius Cloud account, the sync button at the top of your screen will display either:

  • A checkmark if all your documents are synced to your account

  • A warning (Android) or a clock (iOS) if an error prevents a document from being synced. Tap the sync button to see the error, or tap Backup & Sync to sync your documents manually.

  • Successful syncing:

A checkmark at the top left corner of your app indicates that your documents are synced
  • Pending changes:

A clock at the top left corner of your app indicates that all your documents are not synced

Individual Genius Cloud sync status

This section covers syncing with Genius Cloud.

  1. Open the sync screen by tapping the sync button at the top of your screen.

  1. Check the list of pending documents. If the list is empty, all your documents have been synced. If not all your documents are synced, tap the Backup and sync button.

Individual export status

This section covers manually exported documents to other services.

On iOS, when you export a document (through Email or to Google Drive or Dropbox…), you will see a corresponding icon on each document denoting the successful export to the chosen export destination. Should an error happen, this icon will turn grey, and you can open the document to see a detailed message.
