In Genius Scan, you can import documents (PDF, JPEG and PNG) from other applications. Note that it is also possible to import documents from cloud services such as Dropbox or iCloud Drive by following the same procedure.

Import one or multiple JPEG or PDF files

  1. Tap the orange + button (tip: you can long press the + button to skip step 2)

  1. Tap Photos to access your JPEG files (or tap Files if they're located in this folder)

  1. Choose the files you want to import to Genius Scan. In Photos, select All images if you want to import both photos and documents, or choose Documents if you only need to import images that are recognized as documents.

The file picker interface might look and work differently depending on your device brand and Android version.

  1. Tap the Import button.

  1. Select a single JPEG or PDF document. If you can't find the desired file, tap the ☰ button in the top-left corner to browse the folders.

  1. If you want to import multiple files simultaneously, long-press a document to enable multiple file selection, tap all the files you want to import, and choose Select.

Export JPEG or PDF files from third-party apps

  1. Locate and open the document in your favorite application. Here, it's located in Mail.

  1. Tap the Share button.

  1. Choose Genius Scan (it might be located in the horizontal list or in More...).

  1. Locate and open the document in your favorite application. Here, it's located in Gmail.

  1. Tap the Menu button at the top right of your screen and choose Share.

  1. Choose Genius Scan to export your document to Genius Scan.

The import button is at the bottom of your screen, above the scanning button
